Refund and Return Policy
This policy explains when refunds may be available for digital products purchased through Jepsi.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under the laws applicable to you.
Scope and contracting parties
This policy applies to digital products purchased through jepsi.no. The individual store or seller identified on the product page and order confirmation is normally the supplier and contracting party for the product. Jepsi provides the marketplace technology and may assist with communication, payment administration and dispute handling as described in the applicable Jepsi agreements.
If the seller is acting as a business and the buyer is a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection law applies. Different rules may apply to business buyers and purchases from private sellers.
Digital products cannot be physically returned
Jepsi is a digital-only marketplace. Products are delivered by download, account access, licence key or another electronic method. There is no physical item to ship back.
Deleting a file, choosing not to use it or being unable to return it does not by itself create a right to a refund. Refund rights instead depend on withdrawal rules, whether the product was supplied correctly, the seller’s terms and mandatory law.
Cooling-off and right of withdrawal
Consumers in Norway, the EEA and the United Kingdom
Consumers generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, that right may end once delivery or downloading begins, but only where all legally required conditions have been met.
This normally requires the consumer to:
- expressly request or consent to delivery beginning before the 14-day period ends;
- acknowledge that starting delivery causes the right of withdrawal to be lost; and
- receive confirmation of that consent and acknowledgement in a durable format.
If those requirements have not been met, any statutory withdrawal right remains unaffected. A policy statement alone does not remove that right.
Customers in other countries
Local consumer law may provide different cancellation or cooling-off rights. Where no mandatory right applies, completed digital purchases are generally final once access or downloading has begun, unless the seller offers a more generous policy or the product is defective.
When a refund or other remedy may be available
Please contact the seller promptly if:
- the digital product was not delivered or cannot be accessed;
- the supplied file is corrupted, incomplete or unusable;
- the product is materially different from its description or preview;
- the product lacks functionality or compatibility that the seller promised;
- a licence key is invalid or access was withdrawn without a valid reason;
- you were charged more than once for the same order; or
- another mandatory consumer right entitles you to a remedy.
The seller will normally have an opportunity to correct the problem, replace the file, restore access or provide reasonable technical assistance. A price reduction or full refund may be appropriate if the issue cannot be corrected within a reasonable time, recurs after correction, or is sufficiently serious to justify an immediate refund under applicable law.
Situations that are usually not refundable
Subject always to mandatory law, a refund will normally not be issued merely because:
- you changed your mind after delivery or downloading began and a valid withdrawal waiver applies;
- you no longer need or want the product;
- you lack the software, hardware, skills or knowledge required to use it, where the requirements were clearly disclosed;
- the product is incompatible with your setup where compatibility information was clearly disclosed before purchase;
- you purchased the wrong product or failed to read the description;
- a third-party platform, plugin, operating system or service changed after purchase and the seller did not promise continuing compatibility; or
- you have already used, copied, shared, resold or otherwise exploited the digital product or licence.
This section does not remove rights relating to misleading descriptions, undisclosed material limitations or defective digital content.
How to request help or a refund
- Contact the seller using the details on the store page or in your order confirmation.
- Provide your order number, product name, purchase date and the email address used for the order.
- Describe the problem clearly and include relevant screenshots, error messages or files where appropriate.
- Allow the seller a reasonable opportunity to investigate and provide a correction or replacement.
Requests concerning defects are not restricted to a 14-day period where a longer statutory claim period applies. Report problems without undue delay after discovering them.
If the seller does not respond or the issue remains unresolved, contact Jepsi at contact@jepsi.no. Jepsi may request additional information and facilitate communication, but does not replace any court, consumer authority or statutory dispute-resolution body.
Remedies and refund payments
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the remedy may be:
- restored access or a new download link;
- repair, update or replacement of the digital product;
- reasonable technical assistance;
- a proportionate price reduction; or
- termination of the purchase and a full refund.
Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method. Where Norwegian or EEA consumer law requires repayment after a valid termination or price-reduction claim, repayment must be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the supplier receives the claim. The customer will not be charged a refund fee. Banks and payment providers may require additional processing time before the amount appears.
What happens after a refund
When a purchase is refunded or terminated, the buyer’s licence and right to use the product end unless the seller confirms otherwise. The buyer must stop using the product and must not retain, copy, share, publish, transfer or resell it. Download access and licence keys may be disabled.
Seller policies and Jepsi’s marketplace role
Sellers may offer additional guarantees or a more generous refund policy. Seller-specific terms cannot reduce mandatory consumer rights. If a seller’s policy conflicts with this policy, the term that gives the consumer stronger protection applies to the extent required by law.
Because purchases are normally made from the seller shown on the listing and order confirmation, the seller is responsible for product conformity and for deciding and funding refunds, unless the applicable Jepsi agreement or mandatory law provides otherwise. Jepsi may process an approved refund through the original payment system.
Mandatory law and international customers
This policy is intended to operate internationally. It does not waive consumer rights that apply based on the buyer’s country of residence, the seller’s location or the market targeted by the seller. If a provision conflicts with mandatory law, that law prevails and the remaining policy continues to apply.
Relevant Norwegian rules include the Right of Withdrawal Act and the Act relating to the provision of digital services to consumers (Digitalytelsesloven). EEA rules are based in part on the EU Digital Content Directive and Consumer Rights Directive. United Kingdom customers also have statutory rights under UK consumer law.
